Hello!

This blog post we'll take look at the type of art I have in mind for The Bird and the Tree. (Still working on the title.).

As stated in the previous blog post, the art style i was looking at was Voxel art. The cubes look nice and give an innocent feel to the concept which is important for the game. Let's take a look at the color palette as well as have sneak peak into what I've been working on in terms of assets.

The characters are still WiP, since I need to learn more on how to make them the proper way, but stay tuned. :)

Perspective

A simple scene setup

The perspective seemed fitting the project was isometric, since the art style compliments it. Hence the change was made to fit this vision. Because of the perspective change, it should also be easier to make level design concepts.

Props

I've started making a few props to fill up the scene and get some idea about size of the objects. Since majority of the game is taking place in a forest, I've started making small assets for it. Here's a slideshow of those assets.

Particle Effects

A few particle effects were also made to make the environment better looking and nice colored. Here's a few of them in action made for smoke, dust particles and fire.

Next Blog Post will detail which games I played in order to understand the chemistry between the characters in a co-op game. :)
