What is the backstory of the game?
The story is set in a fantasy land of Aredona, a magical land taken care of by the Overseer. Overseer is the god and the creator of this world but he needed help taking care of all the lands. So he appointed 4 of the most powerful wizards to take care of each part of his creation - Water, Fire, Nature and Wind.
The four wizards he appointed were as follows -
Ikalis, Lord of Fire
Ithar, Lord of Nature
Gataz, Lord of Water
Drimargo, Lord of Winds

A millenia passed and the Overseer had little time remaining in the world. He was a god, but wasn't immortal. He had to choose someone to take his place and keep a lookout on the world. He chose Ithar, as he showed most compassion towards other living beings.
Overseer passed away in presence of all four wizards. Because of his decision, unrest and jealousy harbored between other three wizards and they decided to lock Ithar in a dungeon to take control of Aredona themselves. They were successful in doing so and Ithar was subjected to a dungeon.
A war broke out between the other three wizards as they fought for the role of the new Overseer. The story of the game starts here as Drimargo destroys patches of land expressing his power.
The Bird and the Tree
After the destruction of the land, our heroes are resting on piles of debris. A tree who nested a bird all his life, provided food and shelter to this bird. The bird couldn't fly and the tree provided almost everything to it. Drimargo destroys the patch of land and our heroes are blown far away from their home.
The tree lies uprooted in front of the bird, who is devastated. Ithar feels the bird's emotion and sees what has happened. He reanimates the tree and gives the power of walking to it, making it completely alive. He asks for their help in getting out of the dungeon and he would help them get back home. The whole story is about them traversing the lands of each lord and getting back home.
For the Next Blog Post, we'll take a look at the art style and some assets that have been made for the game. :)
