This week, I have something exciting to show everyone! A first rough playable draft is ready in a text-based web version and I'm going to share it with all of you! Not only this, I have made some progress in the art department which I'd like to share too. So without further adieu, let's get right into the progress.
Summer's Dew - Web Version
The web version of the game is made on Twine. I'll recommend Twine wholeheartedly to anyone who is looking to make a game with branching narrative, as it's easy to navigate. Also you can easily play whatever you make to see if the tone of dialogues is right or not.

Twine has allowed me to make a playable prototype of my story, with stills of various scenarios to help players visualize and engage themselves in the story. The scenario I've made is the Level 4 of the game, where Summer and Madalene have to confront Summer's Parents and open up to both of them.
The dialogues are a first draft, hence there definitely are some grammatical errors here and there, as well as, some things won't sound very convincing. But it's a work in progress so it'll definitely improve.

The game is playable here - Summer's Dew (Prototype), so please give it a try and let me know your thoughts!
Art
Stills
Since only text is boring, I decided to make a few stills to make the game more enjoyable. Here's a slideshow of all the stills made for this prototype!

Level Assets
More level assets have also been made in order to fill the sets, as well as they have been used in creation of the stills!
Here's the updated sprite sheet of the assets!

What's next?

So the following week I'm going to be swamped with extra-curricular activities I have in my schedule. EGX Rezzed is happening next week as well as BAFTA Awards which I'm going to attend, so next week I'll be occupied!
I'm also going to Guildford for a play test session on 9th of April, so it'll be hard to tell how much progress I'll make, but another blog post will come on 2nd week of April, detailing some more progress. So stay tuned!
The next step of the project is to make the 1st Level of the game in twine too, complete with stills too!
See ya soon! :D
