This week, I'd like to post about the research going on behind the game and what steps I'm taking to ensure that my game becomes an experience to all the people who'll play it.
Reddit Posts
As a start to the research aspect, I made two posts on subreddit /r/lgbt, one as a casual conversation and another in a form of a survey to gather some data and suggestion. Both of the posts were meant to know the people better in order to write the dialogues better, as well as know what emotions they feel during their journey's of self-discovery. Asking to share something personal was incredibly new for me, as I've never interacted in that subreddit before, but I'm glad to say that people were supportive and gave me nice feedback on both of the posts.

The First Post
The first post was just a casual conversation post, meant to get some personal insights into people's lives and what were their emotions when coming out to the public. It was a simple questions, and getting to know their story better. This post can be found here - https://www.reddit.com/r/lgbt/comments/asbq9b/making_a_game_to_plot_the_journey_of_how_someone/

The answers showed me what stories each person has and it was interesting to see that each story was unique. For example, user called /spicybokchoy share his insights and it showed me that no matter what the sexual preference is, each individual is normal person, just trying to survive another day on the earth. Most people experimented with different partners and knew what they wanted regarding their love life. Not only that, sometimes they feel vulnerable and scared when telling others that they are gay.

The Second Post
The second post was another series of requests from the fellow redditors, but this time I had a google form survey attached on the post itself. This made it easier arranging the data I needed, whilst knowing what happened with each member that was kind enough to reply on the post itself.

Of course, I'll not share any responses because they're bound to remain anonymous and private, I'll share some insights definitely. One of the fellow redditors suggested a way of showcasing something that is also present in the real world, anti-LGBT people and groups. This brings an interesting idea to the plate of the game, whilst showcasing what happens and ways to deal with them. More choices can be given and an example of confrontation with one of these kinds of people can be showcased, which is interesting.
Anyways, that's it for this weeks progress. Next week, I'll give insights on some of the small work I've been doing in the game engine.
Cheers!
