Hello!

This post will give you details all about art that will be present in the game. The art style of the game is pixel art hence the characters are made in the same way too!

Characters

The characters of the game are meant to be different looking from each other.

All the assets were made in software called PyxelEdit, a software made specifically for drawing pixel art assets. Each character has been drawn to look different and their personalities are reflected in the colors the characters wear. Each character has a different color palette to make them distinguishable.

Each character clothes and colors exhibit a trait and like/disklike of that character.

For example, Canary here -

Props

Props were made for bathroom, bedroom, living room and library to get a sense of the feel of the art assets and the style. The characters do not have a border, but the assets have a dark outline to keep them from merging.

Composition

Combining both, the character and the scene had to be done after making a small tileset for the game. Hence, the combination looked something like this -

Following are the sizes for each element -

Characters - 256x128

Props - 64x64

Tiles - 64x64

Next Blog post will detail on how the programming for the game features is being accomplished.

Cheers!
